---ATTENTION ALL KILLINGTON SKIIERS---

Killington needs to up their parks.... For being one of the 3 main locations of the Winter Dew Tour, you would think Killington would be boss in their terrain parks.. Well its actually the contrary.> The parks at killington are not maintained very well at all. I dont care what any of the park staff, or Killington staff sais. There are not nearly enough rails in any of the parks. And what sucks about that is that there are litterly like, 50 sick rails that are welded and ready to be put up sitting behind where the snowcats sleep, and they are never used.
THE JUMPS ARE ICY FUCKING GARBAGE! Jumps need to be a more gradual incline on the take off, all the jumps are way to lippy to spin off of. How are people supposed to progress on that?

Lets be real. Killington gets PLENTY of money from all of us to keep their mountains running right. The fact that they cant keep up on their simple parks is straight up unfair to all the park skiiers who want to come enjoy the parks at Killy

We deserve to have more legit parks at Killington.

fuck off, have fun riding somewhere else.

and killy was destroyed by flooding, which cost them tons of money, and they lost a lodge, no to mention a terrible year with temps and snow.

they did a great job with what they had, as always

Killington doesnt have the Dew tour anymore.
From what I've seen Killington has a sick park!

Try skiing and indoor setup. We dont even have jumps.
any we have maybe 10-12 rails.

completely disagree with your statement about jumps. jumps need to be poppier with STEEPER landings rather than flattening them out.

East coast jumps seem to all fall under the category of "skimmers" so lets not ask for more flat takeoffs...

yo broo...i got an idea, SHUT THE FUCK UP. Honestly, no one cares about some middle schoolers complaining how the terrain park is at killington. The terrain park there is fine. Yea its not going to be a breck or keystone, but for the eastcoast, especially our winter last year it was more than fine. If i was mountain management i wouldn't of put up a terrain park last year.

The bottom line, the terrain park brings in 0 revenue at 99% of the mountains out there. Its simply there for your enjoyment. You think they care about some poor little 17 year old kid who isn't even going to buy a nice big lunch or buy their entire family 400 worth of lift tickets. Enjoy what you have, im sure in better winters the park will be way better.

The real issue is that the main terrain park is in a place where you can't get any damn speed, so they have to build pussy-ass jumps. It's the largest resort on the east coast, and the best they've got is maybe 40 feet if you take it deep. Step up your game, Killy. The rails are dope, though.

dude, the only place i'll admit they could put in more rails is between the last jump in dream maker and the superpipe.

the rails are set up better than just about any resort on the east, and they happen to be some of the best rails in the east as far as resorts go.

the only thing i can say is that the jumps aren't big enough. but thats purely due to the trail they build on. (not the dew tour trail, the dew tour trail is one of the most popular tourist runs unfortunately, thus management won't allow a park there)

i went to killi the whole febuary break and for the dew tour and it was absolutly awsome, the parks have awsome flow, and there were plenty of variation in the features   and for a snowboarder like myself the stash is super fun    the only thing i see them changing is maby like doing something like 7 springs did with the urban stuff in the future, but idk even about that, seems like killi will always be a slopestyle type place

Never mid winter but the times I was there the parks were so sick I never got to hit a Killy jump since there weren't any set up while I was there but the rails were all set up real nice

Couldn't agree more. Pop + steep landing = amazing. You actually don't need as big jumps as everyone thinks if you give 'em some fat-ass pop.

Sessioning even a 50'-55' jump can be a blast if it shoots you to the moon.

The real key here is having a good winch cat operator. If you can shape your landing to that money 36 degree pitch, and keep as much of it consistent as possible, you can put massive amounts of smooth kick into a takeoff and it feels like butter.

Kick helps with corking and off-axis. In today's age, if you aren't spinning at least a touch off-axis you're doing it wrong.

Of course, kick in a jump is instantly ruined by kinked takeoffs (quick kick) or flat landings (knee surgery).

I have only ridden at Killington once, which was definitely pretty darn awesome... but I can't make a formally educated statement on the park this year as I certainly was not there.

newschool is a state of mind, not a style of skiing.

Killington is good, but honestly I'd rather ski other places, the jumps sucked this year and there is no speed, The rails are fun though and the sticks was fun. Also the ice is not under their control, although the park tends to be icy especially in early season.

Overall Killington is still better than most places and if you don't like it go somewhere else in VT I mean I've driven almost 4 hrs to ski there so it's not that bad compared to many places I ski.

I wouldn't mind it though if they did do some improvement on the parks, not that it's needed really. I think they have a lot of opportunity to do so and could make it sick!

Just my 2 cents

Oh read it wrong, and Zandertower, shut up. You can't drive, you wouldn't hit any of the features, and everyone hates you

Killington had 110 features this year not to mention they were one of the first to open and one of the last to close. Shut the fuck up and stop complaining. Killington is one of the sickest mountains on the east coast and they always have the best early season park.

Well you're a dick. I posted my honest opinion to the thread and wasn't supporting the OP, plus I just commented on how it would be nice if they improved the park a little bit. Just because you're angry doesn't mean you have to take it out on me.

calm down

---ATTENTION ALL KILLINGTON SKIIERS---Killington needs to up their parks.... The fact that they cant keep up on their simple parks is straight up unfair to all the park skiiers who want to come enjoy the parks at KillyWe deserve to have more legit parks at Killington.
A. Killy is no longer part of Dew Tour

B. Just cause you see a rail in a rail garden DOES NOT mean it's ready to go...a lot of mountains only prep their more popular/main rails and then get to the others when they have time...and considering the work that was needed this past season just to keep up, there was likely very little time to work on rails.

C. Complaining about icy jumps on the east coast...seriously...there's NOTHING any park staff can do to fix that short of rebuilding the jumps every morning and even then they'd only be slightly better. Since most east coast resorts rely on man made snow to build (or even open sometimes), and man made snow has SUPER high water content, east coast jumps will pretty much always be icy.

D. If you're looking for a flat takeoff...you're doing it wrong. We need to stop relying on flat takeoffs on step-downs...it's become very obvious that PROPERLY built step-ups and step-overs/true tables are much more safe and easier to progress on. They need smooth, poppy lips and steep landings.

E. My simple rule...if you stop after every feature/on landings (of ANY feature)you are no longer allowed to complain about ice...stopping shortly after landing, for whatever reason, moves the top layer of snow down hill, which then exposes the ice layer...this ice layer is the key to longevity for east coast mountains, if the groomer was to break into it too early they risk ruining the mountains chances of being open in March or April. Park groomers generally cover that ice layer every morning and paint pretty lines on it...but that doesn't stop stupid people from scraping it all away.

F. You CLEARLY have ZERO idea of how much money it takes to successfully run a ski resort...especially on the size of Killington. Not to mention, this past season SUCKED ASS for mountains, most lost money because they had to make so much snow (that shit's expensive).

G. Finally, this past season was one of the worst seasons for the ski industry in years (especially on the east coast), you're lucky you were even able to ski, let alone have a park of any kind. As a part of a park crew at a different mountain I can tell you that the industry worked for it this year. Many early mornings and late nights went into making this season possible. There's only so much a park crew can do with the shitty weather we got this past season. There were plenty of days were we weren't even allowed to use a cat so we didn't fuck everything up. I didn't get up to Killy this year, but from what I heard it was actually pretty fun.

Sparknotes: Quit your bitching.

buddy be happy with what you have. http://springhillwinterpark.com/Site/Home.html Check out the picture at the top of that site, thats my hill. I ski on my cities floodway, its literally a man made ditch, so don't complain. We have ONE flat landing 15ft jump, and maybe 5-7 rails if we are lucky a year. Just be thankful for what you have.

For as small as that hill is you have a lot, including what looks to be a half-pipe?! You probably get so many laps on those rails in one day haha
