im in somewhat of a dilemma right now. i love my punx to death but after 1 season i have both edges missing. i like how soft and light they are (lightest ski ive ever felt). i ride switch alot so a symmetric ski would be cool. but i also very much like the idea of the halo with taper and early rise. im debating wether or not i should get another pair of punx or go with the halos...
any help would be greatly appreciated. id say im an intermediate park skier. i can throw 7s off of 40 footers but am not so good at rails. 2 on or 2 off is all. so id rather want to progress on jumps. but i love speeding and jibbing on the mountain, tapping things etc.
i hope someone who has skid both skis can give me insight.

height: 6 ft 1 and around 180 lb.

any help will be rewarded with k

New punx for next year have better and more durable edges.
Does anyone else feel aroused... and jealous... and worried?

Why are you limited to just these skis, I am a similar skier and was in a similar situation this season when mt noses on my old K2s chipped and the edge tore, I ended up picking up AR7s. Also Punx and Halos are very different skis so I don't understand why you would compare them.

If you like Punx they are better next year and are not just the same ski, also if AR7 interests you check out my review and PM me with any questions. http://www.newschoolers.com/ns/members/review_profile/member_id/155745/

You shouldn't have a problem with edges pulling out on new punx with "resist edge". Halo may be more buttery than your after if you mainly hit jumps.

If you are going to be mainly hitting jumps I would consider the Alpha 1 instead of the Halo. It has a faster "race base", and is stiffer.

Are those a mix between a snowboard and skis?

I found the older Punx have a great shape (camber and radius), but I always found them a little low on energy. I've heard big things about next years though. Def a ski to look out for.

I ridden two sets of Halos and loved them too though. Almost redefines a park ski and how you ride park. Linkin switch turns is a blast with the tight turn radius and the elf shoe makes flowin through the park pretty fun. I got injured a few days into the season this year and are selling a pair of 18s2 to pay some med bills/ time off. Feel free to hit me up if your interested

ya i want the alphas more, but they are too expensive for a park ski imo. i wax my skis every 2 days, so i hope ill be good with the halos, though im probably getting the punx again.

As a proud owner of Halos I'd have to recommend them.  Punx are amazing skis as well, but you have an interest in the rocker/taper of the Halo so I'd say give it a shot.  I absolutely love it.
