Hello, I am 19 years old and have been skiing all of my life and consider myself an expert skier. I'm 5'10" and 170 lbs. I currently live in the midwest but typically get out west atleast 1 week a year. My skiing in the midwest is limited to 80% groomers and 20% park skiing but when I go out west I typically spend my time 40% powder, 30% glades/tree runs, 25% steep groomers, and 5% park. I am looking for one ski to do it all. I have been eyeing the Line Prophet 90 179 or 186 but I'm afraid its not an advanced enough ski for me. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Prophet are pretty stiff. Not very playful. Take a look at blends or bacons. Very versatile

The ON3P Jefferey sounds like it would suit nicely, they step up to 110 underfoot. I ride prophet 100s at the moment nice flex, works well at speed a nice groomer ski, just they aren't the most playful and don't really excell at anything in particular.

I ski Bacons and don't know that I would recommend them for someone who skis 80% groomers in the midwest. Check out the Blends, more of an all mt ski that will work great when your out west.

Check out line blends (like some people already mentioned) since you can take it anywhere, being park, powder or groomers.

The Life of a wanna be east coast ski bum

The Life of a wanna be east coast ski bum

Aug 25th 2010

I just got my new LINE Chronic Cryptonite skis and theses babies look and feel sick. It's only August but I am all ready to get my shred on. Now I'm looking into what bindings and boots I want to get. Since I ride Park a lot as well as all Mountain, I'm looking into the LOOK PX 12 Jib wide binding or maybe the Marker Giffon schizo 12 ski binding. As for boots I have been looking into some Full Tilts or the Salomon SPK Kreation or Pro model. Any suggestions bring em on....

Wakey Wake!

Wakey Wake!

Aug 25th 2010

As noted, I am seeing a lot of tweets from my ski contacts and the tweets are mostly ski related. Ski Brule tweeted the other day that their ski operations for the 2010-2011 season just started up! I've been seeing tweets and FB communications from nearby Nordic Mountain and of course all the other ski bloggers I network with are getting geared up! It is nearly time for my annual ski dream!
