Park Jumps Are Dead To Me
May 9th 2012Inspired by a thread about being tired of jumps, I drew a few pictures to lighten up the thread, but as always things started getting dark and fast.

Subject: Park jumps are dead to me.
It's all about the rails! Except backflips, they never lose their appeal.
For real though, I seriously think that jumping has pretty much reached it's pinnacle of appeal. How many times can one watch people spinning around in the air? After so many years, it's just the same shit over and over again, and there's basically nothing left to be done. Don't get me wrong, the dub cork 7 was dope, and there's lots of dudes that kill smooth tricks on jumps, I've just seen it all so many times. I've been watching ski movies for more than 12 years at this point, and there's only so many cork 9's and smooth switch 7's that one can watch before realizing that there just isn't anywhere left to go. I really hope someone proves me wrong, but I can't really fathom what's left to be done (zero fucks given about triples and other future spins).
When it comes to rails on the other hand, I feel like we're just getting started. Not only is sliding rails more fun than jumping (backflips being the exception) but they're just so much more interesting to watch. There are so many rails on this planet to be slid and year after year, rail shit just gets fresher.

i have to agree, seeing the same crazy flipping and spinning is really starting to get repetitive. I think that the best way to keep jumps sick is to focus on simple things but keep them fresh with new style.

I know this is 3 pages late, but park jumping is so fucking rad!
1. I don't watch people jump. I can't give a shit about not being able to replicate what pros can do on a jump. I go at my own level and I have a great time doing it too! After jumps have been cut down, the only positive side is now jumps can be safer if the groomer guy fucks up. If you dont like the jump, bring shovel and simply go faster to get air!
2. Unless you have a pay park and your jumps are perfect, people at you center will start to suck at jumping, brining the advantage to you at slopestyle competitions
3.Reduces the fucking spin-to-win effect at local competitions effect...but increases the huck-till-you-get-hurt factor.
4.With smaller jumps, style and innovation can take place to get the most out of a tiny jump
5.My friends can ride the jumps to film me
6. Rails hurt...yes im a pussy but I am not allowed to get hurt or its living on the streets for me! (I have a physical job)
