I am buying my first long board and have narowed it down to two choices. Its between the sector nine punta lobos and the kracked skulls scimitar. I would get the punta lobos with 50 caliber trucks, bones reds and either purple orangatang durians or baluts. The same would go for the scimitar except i would possible get randal rIIs instead of calibers because it would be much cheeper and reguler abec5 bearings instead of bones reds. The kcracked skulls comes out to about 190 with calibers and 180 with randals. the punta lobos is 200. Any advise would be greatly apreciated.

+k for helpfull responses

i would definitly recommend the bones red. as well as the orangatang wheels. However I wouldnt go with the sector 9. It might just be my personal experiences or whatever but they are expensive for what you actually get. basically your buying the name "sector 9" whereas there are better less expencive boards. Plus with those trucks and wheels. you will be fine pretty much whatever board you decide to get espically for your first board. So I would recommend looking around for other decks but def get bones and the oranatang wheels.

IMO I'd go with the KS. Sector 9 are over priced pieces of shit (just my opinion). I know a few people over on silverfish (longboard forum) that live they're KS. There are honestly a ton or nice boards out there. Check out LBL (longboard Larry). He makes some pretty sick boards and longboardskater.com always has some super nice deals.

Go KS. Plus it's easy to find coupon codes online for either $10 or 10% off (don't remember which it is)

My friends has the Punta Lobos and it's pretty fun. But for freeriding I think it's too flexy. Just my $0.02. I would look at Landyachtz. I like the 9two5 for freeride, Evo for DH, and the switchblade for DH/Freeride. They also make great cruisers. (Bamboo Pinner, Wedge Flex, Drop Carve, etc.) I have the Earthwing Supermodel and it's amazing but it looks like you want more of a cruiser. If you have any questions PM me.
SKI THE EAST

I tail tapped a gaper who was standing on the knuckle yesterday. It was a nice firm smack right to the helmet, definitely the high point of my day.

well, then your only hope is to get full tilts, I hear they cure goggle bang.

Im basically looking for something that does everything decently, something that i can slide on but also cruise around, im not looking for a DH specific board because im just starting out but i want something that will allow me to try different things so i can decide what i like and then later buy different stuff to focus more on that
