Sorry Chaunceyskis, I couldn't wait to make the thread.

Post up videos of your favorite pros killing it, pics of some sick spots in your town, or videos of you landing a new trick, ask about tricks, give advice on tricks, discuss/review skates, and discuss the latest news in the world of aggressive skating!

Eventually, we could even use this thread for buying, selling, and trading parts or full skates.



First off, what are your thoughts on the beginning of powerblading? Kizer has just brought the concept into play in the aggressive rollerblading game with their new frames able to hold 4 80mm wheels while still allowing soul and negative plate grinds. Check the fourth and fifth edit for some powerblading shots.

Second, there is a lot of good advice on what type of skates suit you in this thread, as well as where to buy full skates/parts,(http://www.newschoolers.com/ns/forums/readthread/thread_id/615627/), all courtesy of a_pla5tic_bag

And lastly, here are some of my favorite edits at the moment -

i have PB frames aswell.. its fun to change it up on a random day and just bomb everything.... Its kinda like skiing, everyone has fun skipping a day of park every now and then to bomb the shit outa runs. It should be thought of the same way.... I ride anti WAYY more often though. Just skated with this new dude from another town.. He was doin cork 3s and switch cork 3s. i convinced him to go for a switch cork 7. It was probably the sickest thing ive ever seen.( this was on a spine). He also had so many steezy variations of negatives(which i found surprising because most negatives look semi awkward) It is awsome meeting new skaters.

Yeah those will work, Max size is around 59 mm

while on the topic of riding flat... i dont know if i recommend the slimlines. I had tried trirocker and still gripped like crazy due to the deep/wide groove. I have never tried anything besides anti since then, but from what ive read Creates are great for flat and of course Kaltiks are great for flat( this is a bummer because they are both spendy frames)

Both Tim Adams and Brett Dasovic( people who ACTUALLY skate flat) both skate and prefer Creates for flat. i feel like skating creates with g blocks really isn't considered freestyle, because you still have a specific groove like if you had an anti or flat setup, so you can still lock in. on another note, youth frames can hold 60mm wheels for both the inside spot and outside spot... holy shit.

switch isn't necessarily determined by which side you do it on, but rather the foot opposite of what you feel most comfortable doing the trick on

for example, i soul with my left foot for most tricks but i do all porn tricks, sweaties, true top souls, and most regular ao tricks with my right

and to Jponce, i just don't have enough antis and i'm getting a whole new setup soon anyways

Im looking to start skating but im really ignorant to every aspect of it. Just looking for something to do in the off season of skiing. What kind of skates should i get? i want a nice pair and nothing that will hinder me from progressing.
