My Halos are pretty bad in the pow. True, the rocker probably helps but you're gonna want something a little wider underfoot if you want to take them in the fresh.
Halos. you dont really need the extra stiffness and the bases on the alphas while true they are faster need to be waxed much more and are not as durable as the bases on halos.
Woah completely read your post wrong. Sounded like you wanted to take these in the pow. My bad. The 182s will work for you. I say this because they ski shorter due to rocker not to mention they are so light and easy to throw around.
you're dumb. the race base allows them to be waxed less. even watch the hornbeck video about them, you can not wax for a month and they still ride fast.
seriously, don't get halo's the actual love and care going into building the alpha 1 is so much better.
its not waxing lots so they ride fast, its waxing lots to avoid dehydration-->brittleness of the bases that will make them easily susceptible to damage.
I'm 5'11 and use the 170cm, they don't ski to short or long the EST rocker makes them shorter but that just helps with small adjustments between jump lines and park features. The rocker also makes it easy to shred through any snow fast! I've used these in the park all season so far and haven't waxed them once, they still ride just like when I first bought them!
