so, i have the chance to buy some 2011 177 rossi s3's for cheapness.

worried they might be a bit too much ski for ontario as i prodomently ski at blue. i do make several trips out east in the season. but 9 out of 10 times im skiing blue.

ive had rockets, big troubles, arv's, prophet 100's, but nothing rockered at all.

my brother has lords, i skied them last year, liked them, but i cant justify paying salomon prices. lords have 210mm tip rocker where as the s3 has 390mm.

does anyone have any advice? im really on the fence about these skis, i just dont want them to be too much for where i ski. which at blue would be mainly in the trees/groomers, no park on these skis.

im really looking for advice from someone who knows their shit. if you have absolutely no experience with a rockered ski then please dont respond as i dont want to take misleading advice and purchase a product i might regret.

elsewize, any help would be apprechiated. even better if you PM'ed me i would generous in the karmaz.

thanks

every ski with 90+ waist is rockered now.

so we have established its overkill, i think hellbents, chopsticks, bentchetlers would be overkill.

is a rossi s3 really overkill??

I would stay with a rockered ski if you skiing park 90%.  I had a chance to demo the salomon 2012s which were super buttery and fun but I noticed on rails it did not hold as well .  Plus your riding piste all the time so your going to appreciate the edge hold.

I was forced to move to ontario for work/school, and I have been riding my Moment Night trains 24/7. They kill it, and its so fun to cruz with rocker and play with the shape of the ski. I agree, they are like racing a Ferrari in a soap box derby .... they kill it and come in first every time! and everyone loves to stare. once you go fat, you'll never go back.

French Cut Tips Off Of Rockered Skis - Who Say You America?

Apr 1st 2009

French Ski company Coreupt might have been a little intoxicated when they decided these skis would be a good idea. To me it looks like they took a pair of K2 Hellbents, made them a little wider, a little longer and cut those tips right off. I guess I should look at it with open eyes and not knock them until I try them. We will have to wait and see what the production models actually look like. Read More...

Feb 19th 2011

Last year our ski movie Revolver was all about how ski technology has been rapidly progressing over the past decades.  I ride rockered skis, the Bentchetler to be exact, and I have gotten so used to them I feel like nothing could be more fun to ski on.  I decided today to go way back, [...]
