Subject: Jimmy Johns Test
Does anyone here work at Jimmy Johns? If you do, did you have to take the sandwich test? I am asking because I have to take the sandwich test tomorrow as part as the interview process, and was wondering if it was multiple choice, matching, or just writing it all out. Thanks!

nope i took it as well. need to know the number, corresponding sandwich and all the ingrediants to make that sandwich. i had one night to study and missed two sandwiches (ingrediants) and didn't get the job.

At McDonalds they give you minimal training and pretty much throw you in there learning on the floor, IMO that's a pretty good idea because it's how you get to know everything better and your own way .....so it's kind of like a real job...in the real world. start writing down the menu. just the sandwiches and numbers. you can look. do this a few times.. then write down the #, sandwich without looking. memorize that first. then do the same thing again only write down the ingredients underneath. keep doing this until you can do it word for word without looking. youll memorize that shit in a few hours.
i work at a pub and had to memorize all our draft beers, their brewing location, flavor profile, etc. that's as big as jimmy johns menu right there...then know all our domestic and imported bottles, signature shots, irish coffees, and layered pints (including ingredients) then memorize the whole food menu, general info, the different sections of the pub, what it means, why its painted the way it is, etc. i had to pass all three tests in one weekend. i just layed out by the pool and kept writing that shit over and over section by section. its alot easier than you think. dont complain.
ps i failed the menu test. but i know a shitload about beer now. ahahaa
