Subject: How to ask for ski advice.
Well, it's that time again, grass is growing and lawns are being cut, mom's handin over the bank card and you're lookin for some sick new skis to help shred the gnar. sooo if you havent the faintest idea which ski will help you land your switch triple cork 1440 onto c rail, double switchup pretzel 810 out. here's what to do.
FIRST: GO TO A SHOP
- look at their stuff, ask questions, find a price range, get ideas.... GET STOKED!
THEN: LOOK ON GOOGLE

If you are serious, I have to clarify that not everyone gets to test all the skis he might want to buy... For example, I live in Finland and I have to order skis, if I want any skis other than Salomon or K2 park models... Because of that I´ve had to ask the NS´s opinions a couple times. I wouldn't recommend going to a store if it's not a good one, they're just going to tell you hellbents are the best ski and want to charge you $800 for them. Some stores like Evo are good but most sell everything way overpriced and only have the main brands like K2.

Let's not hate on Evo. They may cost a little more, but at least you know you'll walk out with gear that's best fit for you and you won't have to replace it the next season because it didn't work like you wanted.

i'll agree with your, stores like Evo are the exception. i've been in there a couple of times and i always leave feeling like i worked with someone who actually knows their shit and genuinely wanted to please the customer.
but when i go in to most ski shops they push me towards a product they happen to have in stock or that they carry even if it's not going to be the best thing for the job.

You wanted something similar to invaders, but you didn't want a ski that would restrict you to only park? The anthems and abangs are probably the closest skis to invaders, and nothing restricts you to just park except for your ability. Sure ski shops are a business at the end of the day, but so is every ski company on here, no matter how small or core they are. They still need to get rid of old inventory. NOW, when shops push the wrong thing on you just to move old product, that's lame and I totally don't condone it. But also, there's a saying in the ski industry that actually makes a lot of sense: buy early, you get what you want. buy late, you get what you deserve. NO MORE "I'M PRETTY SURE"s in gear talk. It gets really frikin annoying for everyone when people give info that is completely not true. Like s4's arn't rockered at all, their full camber.
