That is beautiful!^ excellent job, love the colors

heres one i got at the island this past weekend.

2' exposure, 11mm at f/4 on the tokina 11-16, a boat went by and made that nice green line. thoughts?

but on your picture that is really cool but i believe that its too dark maybe try to edit it and light it up again without affecting the quality too much, next time i would do a longer exposure but that boat light it pretty awesome that was 2 seconds? he must of been booking it haha

I would have to disagree. I feel like it would be better in colour to differentiate the lit objects better, but other than that, I don't feel like the photo is too busy at all. I'm one to really feel the necessity of drawing all attention onto one action all the time, but rather to tell story with setting and location.

I do feel that if you drew the background out of focus, it would look pretty dope, though... and probably draw more attention to the foreground action whilst retaining many of the same elements.

Yeah, much much better in colour. I'm a little annoyed with the skater's arm being in the light, yet like it at the same time... can't tell you why. If he was wearing a more vibrant colour shirt that could have changed everything, I suppose.

I do love that the colour really brought out more liveliness to the background. It makes the foreground skater the predominant figure, yet removes a little focus from him, giving a little more story to the setting he's in, in that he's not alone in a skatepark - where in B/W it was harder to tell without a more keen eye. I sometimes enjoy a slightly busy background when it comes to an action shot - makes the world seem more alive and less lonely - that's just my take on the subject. The colours of the rail and the roof really make each subject in the scene much easier to differentiate, and offer a nicely contrasted situation.

but blah blah blah, I like this photo.

T-Dirty kills it! Thats really funny. I went skating again with him today, got some banger shots but we got kicked out before he landed a better trick. I'll post some photos later but he're a shot of one of his bails.
