I didn't realize how badly NS drains the color. Go to flickr, I put him in dark clothes deliberately. It may have popped better in lighter clothing, but it'd ruin the look I was going for.

I was wondering when someone was gonna call me on that. Here's the problem: My kit lens is broken (drunk people, long story, it was a piece of shit anyways). The 100mm macro I have is too much telephoto to be carrying around (with the crop sensor it becomes a 160mm which is downright absurd for the walking around shots I've been taking), so the 15mm fisheye (aka 24mm wide angle with crop) is all I have right now (used to have a 70-300 but I hated it and sold it). The distortion from the fisheye is getting irritating and redundant, I admit, but all these shots have just been me living my life and keeping the only lens i have strapped on. I'm supposed to get my greasy mits on a friend of an exgirlfriend's 50mm f/1.8 for the next few days but you can see perhaps where the dilemma is in that. Anyone wanna exchange glass? I'm down.

I probably would if you were closer, but the whole 15 hours away in a different country thing is a bit of a problem. There's actually dust on my 5D and 24-70 right now, I've just been shooting with my 4x5 view camera lately.

On the first one I put black calligrapher's ink on the emulsion side, pressed it against a magazine, then pulled it off after a second or so. You can see the texture of the paper and magazine ink along the edges.

I don't have individual titles for any of them yet, but the series is 'What Lies Dormant.' What I'm trying to do is suggest possible physical manifestations of what we suppress and are subverted by, so the interaction of the film plane and the subject are what I'm working with.
