Alright this is one way and iv seen little girls learn it this way. I think i tought 20 people this trick this summer alone.
1- Start your day with a speed check (or 5 straight airs) on the jump you want to hit. the last thing on you mind should be I'm i going to make it to the landing. Every kid i've ever seen attempt a new trick hits the jump slower than they should because they're apprehensive of the trick, but you're ass has to at lest hit the tranny. Crashing or sticking
2-Warm up your spins 1,3,5,7 even if your going to do a 5 you need to know the safe exit of every trick. Ya your only doing a cork 5 but what happens if you go a little to fast, to, big or pop a little to hard for some reason.
3- Now here are the steps you should follow. Once your feeling it, and only you will know, start grabbing leading safety. DONT throw the grab down, DONT throw you shoulder back, just pull your legs up and grab. Keep your head up, all of this will not make you cork, its just a grab right.! WRONG! This will add just a hair of cork, why you ask! Because now your little balled up position is weighted on one side so it will drop on its own.
4-DON'T freak out if you cant see the landing and brake your position. Once you break form your position its all over. Just remember, if you cant see the trick in your head your not going to see it go to your feet and this is true for all tricks. no one likes skiing with a huck splat
5-Once you have this its just a matter of finding the right amount of head tilt to add. all your going to do is once you have left the jump and are just about to get into the balled up grabbing position put you ear on you shoulder. Don't slam it on there just drop it straight to the side. Don't drop you head back, (dspin) or tuck you chin in. Its ear to shoulder thats it.
THIS WILL MAKE YOU CORK SO BE CAREFUL

CCCR
CONTROL-you self
COMMIT-to a trick or you will get hurt
CONFIDENCE-this stuff works you've seen it in movies
RELAX for dame sake this is going to be funThats how id do it

I'm gonna have to try this. Should a corked 5 take the same amount of time in the air as a 5 if you throw them eqally hard? i tried the carving method and ate it straight to my side, it felt like it was working but it felt like i needed more time and i'm not confident enough to try it carving on a big jump in case i do the same.

Grabbing leading safety seems like it makes sense, I've never thought of that.

you said in your instructions no chin in, but when i spin i turn my head, is this a bad habbit? cause when you say just tilt your head a little bit to your shoulder, i would then be trying to spin to, putting me chin on my shoulder almost,

please critique me! thanks turpin!

the way i learned my cork 3s , is that i used a huge carve in to set my rotation so i do not need has much spin givin by my arms, once you pop out of it , drop the shoulder , right spin =right shoulder left spin = left shoulder. keep your arms way in front , dont need a grab for now , the more you do it , the more you will feel a grab. you should be able to see your landing between your leg at 180 .
hope this will answer the question of cork 3s, let me know if you need more info ...

yeh the description works for corks..just tryd grabbing safety opposite and it sets u in a little cork, another way to get corked for me is just practicing 540s and then wipping a 540 with me looking at that opposite safety that sends u a lil more corked but its a faster spin

well cork 5 is prolly gonna be more controlled since its a slower spin but cork 7s i usually spin perfectly 720 degrees which i dont do with 540s but who knos mayb thats just me

Leading safety is doing a safety grab (under the boot) the same way that you are spinning, ie, if you spin left you grab under your left boot with your left hand, if you spin right you grab under your right boot with your right hand.

You know because your mute or safety 3, 5,7 are getting boring and you never fall anymore the last thing on your mind is learning a new grab. having a front flip and back flip help as well

on the wright jump a back flip seems like the only option and on the wright jump a cork makes cents. of corse a back flip might feel gnarly on a flat jump, but find a kicky kicker and its the first thing in you mind.

A nice 20 ft TABLE TOP with a nice round knuckle and long landing, not a step down. The kind where you can land at 18 or 35ft and be fine. this is key for learning all the goods 5,7,9, flat, front whatever.

i started throwing these this weekend.  i got full 720 rotation but keep llanding so far backseat that i fall over.  (not coming uncorked) .      Does this mean i  need to spin less and drop my shoulder more or what.  i have tried with the leading safety but i cant commit to that for some reason. i have a lot easier time just going off the lip and getting waay corked out.

Are you putting your ear to your shoulder or looking over it your shoulder?you should be dropping your ear straight to your shoulder. looking over it will make it more d spin and to much will make it like a back full.

okay as i have been to scared to do them on skis, ive been trying cork 7's on tramps for ever. I actually dont have one but I have probably spent about  25 or more tramp seshes ( 1-2 hours)  trying to learn corks... and i can never really get them.!!!!! seriously... i throw them weird and i could never spot or look for where im going. More then half the time i turn it into a underflip! ive read multiple threads and it just feels so awkward for me....

i was just wondering if anyone is having as much trouble as me?

cork 7 is the only cork i can do on a tramp, i cant do a 5 because i am still off axis and i haven't tried to spin more. but the way i learned the do them, i was never really afraid to do them and i tried it one day not knowing what i was doing. But when you jump, kinda lean back like you're gonna do a backflip, but with a spin. just lean back a little bit and put your ear to your shoulder. I get them perfect every time. I need to work up to do it on skis. I hope this helps.

i learned them on tramps by doing whats called an airplane, where you set a cork 3 to your back, not tring to bring your feet around just landing perfectly square and aware flat on your back. from there its just a matter of sacking up to bring your feet all the way around and there it is. make sure you can see what you should be seeing as it comes around.
