The Best Skier On The Internet - Round 3: Park Rails

Home View Contestants Rules & Prizes Help
The contest is Closed. Check out the contestants and winners.
In conjunction with The House, we're extremely excited to launch the third round of the biggest contest in the history of Newschoolers...The Best Skier On The Internet!

The Best Skier On The Internet contest is running all winter long in an effort to allow you, the Newschoolers community, to determine just who is the best skier on the internet. The contest itself is video-based, and features seven rounds, where we're asking any and all skiers (whether you're pro, am, flow, unsponsored or completely unknown) to upload videos of your best skiing in each specific category (and please keep in mind that you can use footage from last winter if you want).

The categories themselves encompass all aspects of freeskiing, including Backyard Jib Jam, Urban Rails, Park Rails, Park Jumps, Backcountry/Big Mountain, Halfpipe and Slopestyle, so you can see who the most well rounded skier is. Here's the details and dates for each round...

Round 1 - Backyard Jib Jam - Completed - Click on the link below to view the results

Round 2 - Urban Rails - Completed - Click on the link below to view the results

Round 4 - Park Jumps
• Open for entries from Tuesday, January 3rd – Monday, January 16th
• Open for voting from Tuesday, January 17th – Monday, January 23rd

Round 5 - Backcountry/Big Mountain
• Open for entries from Tuesday, January 24th – Monday, February 6th
• Open for voting from Tuesday, February 7th – Monday, February 13th

Round 6 - Halfpipe
• Open for entries from Tuesday, February 14th – Monday, February 27th
• Open for voting from Tuesday, February 28th – Monday, March 5th

Round 7 - Slopestyle
• Open for entries from Tuesday, March 6th – Monday, March 19th
• Open for voting from Tuesday, March 20th – Monday, March 26th

Each round is three weeks long, with a two-week upload period and one-week public voting period, and throughout the course of the contest the Newschoolers staff will be keeping track of everyone's average ratings from each round.

In order to be eligible to win The Best Skier On The Internet contest, you NEED to enter at least 5 of the 7 rounds (and you're only allowed to enter once per category), as this contest is all about how well-rounded and consistent of a skier you are, and will run in the same way as the Association of Freeskiing Professionals (AFP) uses to crown their champions, where only your 5 best results (in this case, your 5 highest average ratings) will count. So the more rounds you enter, the better chance you'll have at winning! Then at the end of the contest, we'll tally up everyone's 5 highest average ratings out of the 7 rounds, and the contestant with the highest score will be awarded the title of The Best Skier On The Internet on March 27th, 2012!
