Today was the first day of actual competition at X-Games 14.  The day started off with men’s slopestyle qualifiers at 10am.  All predictions came true and even the qualifiers were extremely competitive.  Bobby Brown was the first athlete to drop and stomped an absolutely flawless run right away.  Everyone in the contest was killing it, and almost every run that qualified would have been a winning run last season.  Unfortunately, TJ had some trouble with his back 450 off the top flat bar and it came down to his last run to make it into finals.  TJ changed around some of his rail tricks and put down an awesome run, but touched his hand down on his double 1260 and won’t be able to defend his title from last year.  Tonight is a clean slate with the beginning of big air practice from 7 to 9.

The Finalists for Slopestyle will be:

Andreas Hatveit

Bobby Brown

Russ Henshaw

Sammy Carlson

Tom Wallisch

Phil Casabon

Jossi Wells

Matt Walker
