The men’s competition was crazy enough but it doesn’t hold a flame to the women’s comp as the battle was fierce. Making a show for herself and claiming her second gold medal in X Games competition (back to back as well) was Rosalind Groenewoud. After sitting in silver medal position going into the final run of the evening, she knew it was going to be her first European X Games medal but she didn’t know what colour. She dropped in with a huge straight air, 900, back-toback 540s, 720 then finishing with a switch 540.

Taking the second spot on the podium was none other than Devin Logan. Missing out on a medal in the women’s slopestyle, she fought hard to get something out of this one and it was going to be silver. She kicked off her run with a straight air, 540 tail grab, straight air, alley-oop 180, switch alley-oop 540. She’s not had the gold medal around her neck yet for the X Games but it won’t be too far away. She’s so constant with her style that she’s going to be there sometime?

Finishing off the podium was Anais Caradeux. Her run was a huge 540, straight air, 900, alley-oop 180 straight air, alley-oop 540 and 720 for the bronze medal. Much like Devin Logan she hasn’t got an X Games gold yet but she’s always on the podium so it won’t be too long before she jumps onto that top spot.

The women’s superpipe competition did start off on a sombre note as there was a moment of silence for Sarah Burke. She’s gone but not forgotten and this was a touching moment for everyone involved.
