WEB BASED BUSINESS REDEFINES SNOW REPORT CONTENT

A unique online video snow reporting business based in Niseko (Japan), The Daily Flake is gearing up for another incredible winter season in Japan, but don’t expect to see just your average snow report.

Presented by experienced Australian reporter, Christie Dowling, The Daily Flake not only presents up-to-date snow and weather conditions for a range of Japanese snow resorts (Niseko, Furano, Hakuba, Nozawa Onsen and Shiga Kogen), it’s also set to become the ‘go to’ site for visitors to Japan showing some of the country’s best skiing and snowboarding, and top tourist information only locals know about.

“We aim to not only provide accurate and honest snow reports for our viewers each day, we’re going to go one step further by shooting and capturing some truly breathtaking skiing, snowboarding and scenic footage, making our reports informative as well as entertaining,” says Christie.

For those in a hurry who just want a quick snap-shot of weather and snow conditions, The Daily Flake also provides daily ‘text based’ reports on its website. Called ‘The All Resort Report’, visitors can quickly and easily find out how much snow has fallen over night, plus current snow depth and current weather conditions, as well as a 3-day forecast.

The Daily Flake, now in its second year of operation, will launch its first snow video report for the season in early December, and will provide daily video updates right through to March 2011. Being a totally independent company, The Daily Flake relies solely on sponsorship income to run its reports, so a big thank you goes out to its sponsors, including; The North Face, Snowinsurance.com.au and Rhythm Snow Sports Japan.
