On Sunday, Vail and Summit County received some exceptional snow which will likely end up finally creating a proper base on the logs and rocks. We had some great turns within the resort boundaries. It was DEEP in several zones. I’m getting very anxious for more snow and getting out into the backcountry. The snowpack is still very similar to early season conditions and still rather dangerous. Weather conditions have been leaving CO snow enthusiasts walking on eggshells. Unfortunately, Colorado saw 3 avalanche fatalities on Sunday, two of which were in bounds, one at Winter Park and one at Vail. Always be careful, be aware of your surroundings and the terrain you are on. Don’t ride in closed areas. Even if there are tracks, it can still be unstable. Living to ride more snow in years to come is better than risking your life for one run.

We were in line at 7:40. This is around 15th chair at 8:30.
Sometimes you still can’t beat the ski resort’s views.
The sun was coming out.
Ain’t now snow getting down his pants.
