On April 3, Rue des Remparts in the pedestrian village will be buried under 250 tons of snow and a course of ramps and original modules will take shape between the shops and restaurants. The audience will find itself lined up all around the course and on the balconies overlooking the street so as not to miss any of the action. In addition to offering a completely original event, the organizers are also introducing a new format for the competition this year. Purses of $8000 and more than $2000 in prizes from sponsors K2 Ski and K2 Snowboarding will go to the best riders.  April 5-6: McDonald’s Skiercross and the BoardercrossThe second weekend of TELUS Spin presents two events that will have adrenaline pumping to the max: the McDonald’s Skiercross and the Boardercross, taking place on April 5 and 6 respectively, will offer purses of $12 000 each. The Skiercross, an event in the 2010 Olympics, is a race where four participants face off simultaneously in a tight course made up of jumps and rolls where it’s one sloping turn tightly after another. The two first skiers to cross the finish line move on to the next round until there are only four contestants for the final. The following day, it’s the riders who take to the course for the same format of competition. This event was presented for the first time in the Turin Olympic Games in 2006.  Spring skiing, après-ski and partiesTo get the best of spring skiing, the Spin Pass is back!
