When it was initially announced, I wasn't totally sold on this contest but I've been thinking about it could be a breath of fresh air in the pretty staid world of competition. For a start, anyone with a decent jump and a few rails in their park has a shot, because runs don't have to be continuous. Combine that with free registration and you've got an event with as low barriers to entry as we've seen in what is traditionally a very high cost sport. Secondly a $10,000 cash purse is nothing to be sniffed at and there are a bunch of other prizes to sweeten the deal. And there are relatively few rules to follow, you just need to maintain the illusion of a continuous run through 4 'feature tricks' and 4 jumps for slope. In a world of 'athletes' spending thousands of dollars flying round the world chasing FIS points, this really is something different.

There are limited places, so make sure you register now! The run submission portal is now open with the deadline for entering your run set as the 1st of March 2015.
