So with all of that madness the past 3 weeks I’ve been running around with my head cut off just trying to stay above water!  It’s been a rediculously busy but very fun few weeks and am definately glad it is all behind me!  Sundance this year was super mellow, I just had 4 assigments to shoot as I had to head out to Winter X-Games 13 to cover it for Australian Powderhound magazine shooting Anna Segal and Russ Henshaw.

X-Games was super tough this year is it was nuking snow all day, every day!  The weather made it tough for the media and the athletes out there as the lack of speed due to the heavy snowfall became a big factor in letting them perform.  Of course it made my job quite difficult as I was fighting foggy viewfinders, lcd screns (the inside of the screen, not just the outside), lenses and eventually even my image sensor!  I think Aspen got about 3 feet of snowfall while I was there for X.  Even with the tough weather I got shots and my friend Anna won ski women’s slopestyle!  It was a long week but super fun, and productive as well.

Moving down the road to the SIA snow industry tradeshow in Las Vegas, Nevada, the last one ever in Las Vegas…it was quite the trip.  Getting from Aspen back to home to SLC was an adventure in Winter driving once again.  I hit a lot of snow once I got back into Utah and at one point I was driving about 10mph for about 10 miles!  Finally made it out to Vegas and for a few days got very little sleep like Vegas always seems to dish out!  SIA was fun and productive but I’m super stoked to be back home and back to my usual schedule of following the weather.

January was super productive, fun and exhausting and I’m ready for February to kick in!/

I’ll have some pics to follow soon.
