Summer Progression: June Ski & Snowboard Camp at Boreal

Donner Summit, CA, (May 12, 2011) – This June 20 -24, skiers can join Boreal Mountain Resort for an on-snow camp complete with a slew of jumps, jibs, Superpipe and a BagJump, plus coaching and progression training from some of the area’s top USSA coaches.

On-Snow camps are normally reserved for the northwest glaciers of the US and Canada, but can be hosted in Northern California this summer thanks to this winters’ record-setting snowfall. Over 770 inches of snow fell during the 2010/2011 season with 30% falling late in the season (after March 1st). “The huge snowfall this season has allowed us to take our Summer Shred to a new level”, said Eric Rosenwald, Boreal Terrain Park Manager. “We have stockpiled enough snow ensuring we can build a legit terrain park in June,” he continued.

Campers will be given professional instruction led by Dylan Omlin, USSA Coach of the Year. Campers and coaches alike will have the chance to enjoy a variety of jumps, rails and boxes in Boreal’s terrain park. Boreal’s Superpipe will also be open for those campers looking to progress their skills on the vertical walls of Boreal’s 18ft. pipe.

All campers will also have the chance to session Boreal’s newest training tool, the BagJump®. BagJump is considered the most state of the art, action sports training device in the world. It is an enormous 50’x50’ cushion for your landing rather than a snow surface; designed to eliminate the “trampoline effect” absorbing impacts with maximum softness when learning and perfecting air maneuvers.

Boreal’s 5-day summer camp, includes professional instruction, lift tickets and lunch daily for a only $499, until June 1st. After June 1st campers can still join for a cost of $599. More information about Boreal’s June Ski Camp can be found at http://www.rideboreal.com/junecamp.
