Announcing Stowe Mountain Resort's 2006 Team Tyro Terrain Park Opens Today STOWE, VERMONT - Stowe has a unique youth culture. This youth scene represents the most contemporary style of winter sports and resort life. This group of athletes fuses all mountain, all terrain freeriding and skiing with a freestyle form most commonly seen in the Terrain Park and Halfpipe. For a second year, Stowe Mountain Resort has formed a grassroots resort sponsored team of skiers and snowboarders between the ages of 8 and 18.Stowe's Team is a group of talented local individuals who exemplify both skill and a positive attitude towards skiing and snowboarding. These people represent a much larger group of dedicated young skiers and riders who are committed to the evolution of their sports. The 2006 Stowe Team is; Colby and Duncan Adams, Connor Arnot, Keith Bennett, Ted Carrick, Tommy Emanuelson, Macs Gorham, Jasper Goss, Hans and Nils Mindnich, Maggie Newman, Riley Nickerson, Zac Skedzuhn, Tucker Spear, Chloe and Kelsey Van Patten.For many decades Stowe Mountain Resort has been a training ground and home for top young skiers and snowboarders. Many of these homegrown athletes have aspired to positions on the US Ski and Snowboard Teams and World Cup, US Open, and Olympic podiums. For the past 70 years, one of the most storied and respected mountain sport cultures in the world has been in Stowe.Stowe's largest Terrain Park, 'Tyro,' opened today for the season. The resort's medium size Park and Superpipe have been open since December, and a small park will be constructed on Lower Gondolier below the Midway Lodge.
