Snowbird to Host Scott Markewitz Photo Workshop, Feb. 4-7

Snowbird, Utah – Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort is proud to host the inaugural Scott Markewitz Photography Workshop, Feb. 4-7. This instructional workshop is geared towards beginner, intermediate and advanced photographers who want to improve their action and scenic photography skills with one of the most celebrated ski photographers working today.

“Whether you’ve just purchased an SLR camera or have years of experience behind the lens, this workshop will dramatically improve your ski photography skills,” said Markewitz. “Snowbird has been my home mountain for more than 30 years and is an ideal venue for epic ski photography thanks to its dramatic scenery, legendary snow and incredible terrain.”

“Scott has produced some of the best images to ever come out of Little Cottonwood Canyon,” said Snowbird Marketing Director Dave Fields. “We’re delighted that he’s chosen Snowbird to host what is sure to be a unique and unforgettable experience for aspiring photographers.”

The Scott Markewitz Photography Workshop includes three days of uninterrupted instruction both on the mountain and in the classroom as well as three nights at the Cliff Lodge, lift tickets, early Trams and breakfast. With more than 23 years of experience, Markewitz has garnered over 350 covers in publications such as Outside, Men’s Journal, Ski, Skiing, Powder, Mountain Bike and Runner’s World. Named as the only photographer on Ski’s 100 Most Influential Skiers of All Time, Markewitz was also awarded Ski Utah’s Excellence in Journalism Award in 2000 for his timeless photography of the Wasatch Mountains. Snowbird, located in Little Cottonwood Canyon, averages an annual snowfall of 500 inches and offers the longest ski and snowboard season in Utah.
