When night fell on Monday, December 1, 2008 the snowmaking guns were powered on at Snow Trails Winter Resort. With steady progress through the night and into the morning, it won't be long before the slopes will open for the 48th season at Snow Trails.

Winter has returned to the Midwest and Snow Trails Winter Resort in Mansfield, Ohio. The snow making crew powered-on the fleet of snow guns across the 60 acre resort. The high power machines will work through the night and into the morning to produce the beginning snow base. Special events each weekend start with a "Kick-Off Party," December 13th in The Snowflake Loft, located in the main lodge. The "Red Ball Jets" will headline the evening's entertainment beginning at 9PM.

In its third year at Snow Trails, the Vertical Descent Tubing Park has Tuber's awaiting first passes down the Parks tubing lanes accompanied by an extended run-out of over 150 feet, added just last season, increasing ride-time. Snow Trails Winter Resort has been serving Ohio since 1961. There are six lifts, two conveyor carpets, serving 15 runs, including three terrain parks and a snowtubing park, on 60 acres. The Resort boasts being "Ohio's first and finest" since it has a reputation of many Midwest firsts, including being Ohio's first ski area and home to the highest ski slope in Ohio.
