Nico Vuignier uses the mountain very differently to that of most in his home, Switzerland, escaping from a generation of park rats into the wilderness, with some seeing him as the next Eric Pollard, seen as he spends most of his time in the backcountry of Europe, specifically French Switzerland. His segments, such as his parts in Awone films and his own, just seem to have a different vibe than many others, and with this it expands his horizons. Throw him at something, and he'll get it done, whether it's park or natural features. He also has a lively tumblr, full of personal gifs and his own pictures from both his skiing and his life. (http://nicovuignierblog.tumblr.com) I felt it would be good to see what goes on underneath the facemask and what plays into his ears and what inspires his segments. Just a short insight into his inspirations

Nicolas: From the Greek name Νικολαος (Nikolaos) which meant "victory of the people" (Nico at the Swatch Cup)

What made you choose your style of filming and editing over "normal" segments?

I didn't really choose, I simply try to stay curious and watch tons of things outside of the skiing/snowboarding edits to get inspired. Doing that might reflect on the way I edit.
