The victim has been identified as 25-year-old Kelsey Hewitt, a Jackson resident who recently relocated from Portland, Oregon, said Teton County's Sheriff's Deputy Todd Stanyon. Hewitt was an employee of JHMR in the Jackson Hole Sports Rental shop.

After further investigation, it seems as if Hewitt fell into a tree well and suffocated. She was wearing a helmet.

This is the second death of the 15-16 season at JHMR, after 23-year-old snowboarder Callagy Ross died at the resort on December 7th.
