POWDERHORN RESORT HOSTS THUNDER

MT. FREESTYLE FEST 

Mesa, CO—Powderhorn Resort

will host its first-ever Thunder Mt. Freestyle Fest February 10-11,

2007. The festival, created to celebrate and promote the rise of the

terrain park culture, will feature several competitions welcoming all

skill levels.  

The Jeep Terrain Park Challenge,

a classic slopestyle competition for skiers & snowboarders of all

levels, will be held on Saturday. Cost is $15 with a portion of the

proceeds benefiting the fight against multiple sclerosis. Winners in

each bracket will advance to a regional competition held at Monarch

Mountain on February 24. These winners will also receive medals and

a prize pack from Powderhorn Resort. The Jibij Team, based in Boulder,

CO, will be judging the competition as well as hanging out in the park.

Music will be provided all weekend in the terrain park by KMSA. Free

ski and snowboard demos are available on Saturday from Gene Taylor’s

Sporting Goods and Atomic Snowboards.  

On Sunday, the festival features

a rail jam, high ollie contest, and games of P.I.G. in the terrain park

with tons of giveaways. The Jibij Team will again be spending time with

participants as well as taking part in photo shoots.
