Adobe has announced the latest version of Photoshop and Photoshop Extended. Welcome to Photoshop CS6!As you would expect, it is packed with a lot of new features, some of them are pretty small and more are very significant. We are going to list some of the new and exciting features, and you can also download the beta version for a limited time to give it a try.Darker Interface - After you install the new version you are going to notice that the default interface is significantly darker than any previous version. The good news is that you could easily change it via a shortcut or with a couple clicks.Layers Search – CS6 introduces a great search feature in the layers panel. It is extremely flexible, quick and it just works. So next time you have about 150 layers stacked on each other you can easily find any specific layer.New Crop Tool – When cropping in CS6, instead of rotating the canvas, now you get to rotate the image so you can actually see the way the image is going to look after cropping. Another great addition is that you don’t have to re-set the tool to change the ratio and instead you can do it while cropping.Adaptive Wide Angle – A completely new feature that allows you to straighten images captures with extremely wide lenses and fisheye lenses. It's pretty cool and it works, but in my opinion if you completely straighten a fisheye shot it just doesn’t look right to the eye.Blur Gallery – This is whole new filter gallery that allows you to add all kinds of different blurs. Tilt shift effect and shallow depth of field are no strangers to photoshop anymore.Content Aware Move Tool – It does exactly what it sounds like. You can select an object in your photo and move it with just a click. Photoshop will then use content aware to delete it from the previous location and move it to the new one.Auto Save – Has photoshop ever crashed on you? Well, now you don’t have to worry about it because the new version comes with an auto save feature. You can set different intervals and PS will save your file for you.Video Editing – Now that all the new DSLRs shoot video, video editing is part of photoshop. If you are not extremely serious about video but you don’t want to spend extra money for video editing software, Photoshop will help you do the job. These are just some of the upgrades and new features in the new version of Photoshop, but there are also a ton of little improvements in the interface and performance. The best way for you to decide if the upgrade is worth it or not is to try it for yourself.
