TweetThis photo of Mike Henitiuk was just featured in the Downdays Photo Annual , a European wide ski magazine that collects together the best ski photos of the year.  This shot was taken on my trip to Edmonton in 2010 with Poorboyz productions.  You can see the full article about the trip HERE.  It was the first night of a 2 week trip and temperatures were about -20 degrees Celsius.  The temperature didn’t seem to trouble my flashes at all, but I had major issues with my Pocketwizards , one of them wouldn’t even work when it was 5 feet from the camera!  I used a pink colored gel duct taped over the front of my Elinchrom Ranger A head and then also a small homemade snoot fitted onto a Nikon SB-80DX.  The snooted sb-80 was aimed at the yellow railing to flash that with regular colored light to help pick it out from the pink light.
