A combination of natural and man-made snow has Mammoth Mountain ready to turn on their lifts for the winter season starting Thursday, November 10, 2011. The mountain received over a foot of natural snowfall in the last week and temperatures have remained cold enough to allow snowmaking to continue around the clock.

The following lifts are expected to run for opening day: Broadway Express (Chair 1), Face Lift Express (Chair 3), Thunder Bound Express (Chair 6), Discovery Chair (Chair 11) and the Lower Panorama Gondola. Mammoth Mountain currently has a base depth of 18 to 24 inches of natural and man-made snow.

In addition to providing great conditions for opening weekend, Main Park will be open top to bottom and sport a variety of new features including the unveiling of new artwork on all the Mammoth branded rails and jibs. Resort partners Oakley and Monster are also introducing new custom features to Unbound for riders this weekend.

Mammoth Mountain has a variety of activities on- and off-mountain running through the weekend including; movie premieres, the launch of this season’s Unbound Magazine Volume 2, and wrapping up with a concert by Black Lips and Ra Ra Riot on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at Canyon Lodge.

Lift and Lodging packages are available starting at only $119 per person per night. Call 800-MAMMOTH or visit MammothMountain.com for details and for a complete list of this weekend's events.
