Mammoth Mountain, CA – Skiers and snowboarders returned to the slopes at Mammoth Mountain for the reopening of the ski resort on November 7, 2009.

Recent cold temperatures allowed snowmakers to provide a 12-24” base of snow above Main Lodge enabling the resort to operate three chairlifts for top-to-bottom skiing and riding. Broadway Express (Chair 1), Facelift Express (Chair 3) and the Upper Panorama Gondola operated providing access to seven runs from the Summit to Main Lodge.

Mammoth had previously opened for three days on October 16-18, 2009 after receiving a very powerful early-season storm. Warm temperatures forced the Eastern Sierra resort to close down until snowmaking could resume.

Mammoth will continue operating chairlifts from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily for the season. Other services available at Main Lodge include Broadway Marketplace, Tusks Bar, Rental and Retail. More terrain will be added as soon as conditions allow.

To help skiers enjoy the great early season conditions, Mammoth is offering First Tracks lift and lodging packages for as low as $99 per person per night based on double occupancy. Please call 800.MAMMOTH or visit MammothMountain.com to book.

Early season obstacles exist. Visit MammothMountain.com or call the Snow Report at 888.SNOWRPT for all the latest weather and snow conditions.
