Following what seems to be the snow enthusiasts’ post-season trend, I made a camping trip to Moab (I ran into my friend Whit Boucher on my ride. What are the odds?). Oddly enough, it was my first time there despite growing up in Colorado and riding bikes for years. It was exactly as I pictured, but more bright red and far more canyons than I could have imagined. There’s no way I could picture myself trying to survive there for any extended period of time. The ride I was taken on was awesome. Technical, tiring, and turbulent. Even without a good spill, my whole body was worked.

The ride was nuts. I’m actually on the trail here.
Big red rock.
Sunset makes the red redder.
