The organization was incorporated in 1938 in the province of British Columbia under the Societies Act. While our main focus is to provide first aid to injured skiers and boarders our responsibilities are much wider in scope. This includes Risk Management, Safety Operations, Customer Service, First Aid and Accident Investigation. We also provide first aid and communications/logistics services (ie.: Tissot/UCI Mountain Bike World Cup) to various community events around the lower mainland primarily in the "off-season". Plus, we act as a back up resource team for North Shore Rescue as needed from time to time. We run a "Junior Patrol" program for students aged 16-17, who volunteer with us to develop their communication and learning skills and eventually "graduate" to the regular patrol.
