October 29th, 2009. Montreal, QC – With ski resorts East to West preparing their slopes for opening, the Kombi team is also looking forward to a winter loaded with possibility. The addition of urban ski legend Corey Vanular to the team is an exciting development. Originally from Toronto, Ontario, Vanular first rose to prominence through winning Level 1 Productions’ Superunknown contest and has since made his mark on the urban ski scene with his innovation and style. Watch for his performance in Level 1’s newest film, Refresh. Speaking of performance, Kombi athletes have made their mark on a small screen of another kind—MTV. Skiing’s fastest rising star, Tom Wallisch, appeared on MTV’s The Alli Show, representing the sport of freeskiing on the popular action sport-focused program. The cameras followed Wallisch as he went through camp life at Windell’s and with the 4bi9 crew. Be sure to catch Wallisch and freeskiing’s big premiere on MTV. Whistler-based snowboarder Stephanie Just also appears on MTV in another program. Peak Season, a reality show based around the lives of young Whistler-ites, will feature Just as she competes and trains throughout last season. Watch Just Monday nights on MTV.

The rest of the team is preparing for the rigorous schedule of comps, photo shoot and filing that the winter brings. From Wiley Miller’s big mountain plans to Justin Dorey and Roz Groenewoud’s Superpipe competition schedule, the 2009-2010 season looks promising for Kombi athletes.
