This ski season, four resorts (and you) will go head-to-head in the first ever GoPro “Out Of The Box” challenge. That’s right, skiers and resort employees of Bear Mountain, Northstar, Park City Mountain Resort and Sun Valley are set to battle it out in a contest to see which resort can build the best features and terrain park using a set amount of materials within a 200×200’ area on their respective mountains.

Each of the resorts will reveal their GoPro Out of the Box park features to the public on January 15, 2016. By now, you’re probably asking yourself, “what’s in it for me?” Well, there are actually multiple kickass prizes to be won by both you, the rider, and each resort.

The Prizes…

Best Overall Activation – $10,000 Cash

The resort that produces the best build and promotion of its #GoProPark will win the grand prize of $10,000 in cash money. The winning resort will be revealed on March 13, 2016.

Best GoPro Resort Video – $5,000 Cash

The resort that produces the best 60 to 90-second edit, shot 100% with GoPro and promoted on the resort’s own social media channels, will win Best GoPro Resort Video. In addition to the $5K the resort will receive, the lead videographer will also receive the ultimate, personal GoPro setup. The winning resort will be revealed on April 1, 2016.

Best #GoProPark Instagram $1,000 Cash + a 2016-17 Season Pass

Guests from each resort will capture and share GoPro photos on Instagram using #GoProPark, #GoPro and #(Resort). One individual winner will be selected from each resort on March 13, 2016.

Keep in mind: creativity is king. Park, social media, photo and video staff from each resort will need to collaborate in order to win the Grand Prize. Three independent competition categories will be considered by the GoPro and Snow Park Technologies judges.

To make this contest even sweeter, GoPro and its slew of elite judges, including multiple pro skiers, will be touring the nation and checking out each of the #GoProPark setups. On behalf of the entire FREESKIER crew, I’d like to wish everyone involved the best of luck. Bust out those GoPros and start filming on January 16 for the chance to score some cash and a season pass. May the best man and resort win!
