On the note of “exploration Through Innovation” I thought I would share my thoughts on SETI, the Search For Extraterrestial Intelligence.  I recently watched Contact and have been a fan of Carl Sagan’s work for a few years now.  If you have no clue what Im talking about I reccomend watching Contact, its a warner Brother’s film, based on Sagan’s Science fiction novel he wrote in 1985.  It is about an array of radio telescopes that are dedicated to detecting alien signals from space. It is really exciting because it is true, that we are scanning the skys for these signals, nothing has been found yet but on the grand scale of space, but i think we should keep looking indefinitely
The universe is a pretty big space. It’s bigger than anything anyone has ever dreamed of before. So, if it’s just us, seems like an awful waste of space, right?
This is all really interesting stuff, we have found more than 200 exoplanets orbiting nearby stars, and I feel like soon we will know what these worlds are like.  I know that visiting these planets won’t happen in my lifetime, but It is exciting to think about the future of our species and what kind of exploration is possible for the human race.  I know Austin will enjoy this post!
