Maybe it's an El Niño year after all, as Mother Nature went and dropped 12"-30" of fresh snow on central California's Mammoth Mountain Ski Area. The ski resort is now set to open early on Thursday, November 5th.

During the 2014-2015 season, Mammoth was lucky enough to receive some late April and early May storms, thus extending their season, and thus avoiding the early closures that plagued much of the North West.

Mammoth reported that "Lifts projected to open are Broadway Express, Facelift Express and Discovery Chair with access to 4 runs." Opening Day lift tickets are $50.
