Faction Team rider, Drew Petersen, sent us this early season update:

“It has been a great early season here in Colorado. This is the best snowpack we have had in November in recent history. The season started off for me with opening day at Arapahoe Basin on October 25th. Since then I have skied numerous days all over Summit County.

I have been training with the Team Summit Big Mountain Team in preparation for the coming season. While training at both Copper Mountain and Arapahoe Basin we have been foot packing, ski cutting and doing some guided skiing with Ski Patrol. Thanks to both Ski Patrols for being so generous. I was also on the first chairlift on Pallavicini. It is great to have Pali open in November. The Arapahoe Basin Ski Patrol has been doing a great job.

In the past week, our team went over Vail Pass to ski at Vail. It was a great day filled with powder skiing and fun cliff jumps. There is great terrain open at Vail. Here is a shot of me hitting the Powerline cliffs underneath Chair 4. Thanks to Ryan VanNuys for the picture.

I also skied at Breckenridge on Thanksgiving Day. Horseshoe Bowl had nice windblown snow. I was hitting some of the rocks in there. They all had windblown takeoffs so I had to pop early with a lot of speed, but that just made it more interesting. Here is a shot that my brother, Grant Petersen, took.
