To celebrate Father’s Day at Windells Camp, we found a father and son at session 2 who are here to progress their skiing & snowboarding this summer. Tom is a 40 year old snowboard camper here with his son Luke a 7 year old skier. They’ve been ripping up the mountain and having a blast here at Windells Camp.
Why did you choose to come to Windells Camp?
Luke: For skiing
Tom: I wanted to be with Luke for his camp.
Do you like being together at camp?
Luke: Yeah
Tom: I do like being around my son, he’s a good kid and he’s very popular at the digger dog tent. He dropped two hot dogs today so I got to eat extra for lunch.
How do you like Windells Camp so far?
Tom: I love Windells, I’m having so much fun. It’s like I’m a kid again. I don’t have to plan or stress about getting everything together for the mountain, being in charge…I just go with the flow. The counselors take me where I want to go, make sure I have my stuff, make sure my boots are tight (not really, not that far). It’s really nice, it’s just super relaxing.
What’s your favorite part about the camp?
Luke: Boxes and jumps
What are you working on this session?
Luke: jumps and rails like 180’s. I did a 360 in the foam pit but not on-snow.
Tom: My tindy’s. Today I was working on an indy grab cause i’m trying to indy my tindy. I wanna take my tindy and turn it into an indy and 360’s. I pulled a 360 my first day and I’m going to bring it back tomorrow…that’ll be my air tomorrow.
What activities have you done on-campus?
Luke: Skateboarding and rollerblading.
Do you have anything else you want to add?
Luke: Happy Father’s Day
Hope everyone is having a great Father’s Day! Stay tuned for more campers of the day this summer!
