Overall
Overall this ski is one of the most underrated. Its a great all-around ski for rails or jumps or groomers. I would say if you ride about 80% park this would be a good ski for you. If you are the 50% all mountain 50% park rider, these may be a little on the soft side for your hard-line charging needs. But if you are from the EC or the WC and just love to lap the park with some cruiser runs in-between you will dig these skis fo sho!
Performance
The performance of this ski honestly was much better than I thought it would be. I had read some of the freeskier buyers guide and it had gotten a pretty good review. When I skied on the G-butters for the first time I had a shit-eating grin on my face the entire day. They are so fun and playful, but as aforementioned I can hit jumps forward or switch. The swing weight is very very nice as well. I have some friends who have the Rossignol S7's and the Salomon 1080's from this season and these skis are much lighter than theirs and they were in awe at how quick they could move their feet. They also handle well on the groomers, but like all skis after being jibbed, they get a little sketchy on the ice.
Design
The Design is Baller on these skis, there are dragons and bear-like creatures, who doesn't want that on their skis!! These skis are shweet looking, and its an original looking design as well.
Value
These skis retail for 625$ which is on the average to high end of the spectrum for park skis. But these skis are not only great to ride and handmade in the US. The guys behind the company are awesome too! Due to the fact that Fatypus is still a relatively small company you can write an email or call them and expect a response within a week, which is something that many of the larger skis companies can't offer just because you can get lost in the shuffle.
Fit
I absolutely love the fit of this ski. I am 5'11 and it fits just how i want it. However, due to the fact the only size the ski comes in is 178cm. If your 5'4 you probably wouldn't want to ride these, unless your so baller you can handle whatever the ski god puts on your feet. But if your in the 5'7-6'1 range, these would fit you well.
Characteristics
Dispite the name of this ski, it is not only made for the Jibtastical Butter Ninja of Jibland (although they can do that :) I would describe this ski as a nice Medium to soft flex. It is playful on the tips and tails which are ideal for butters and a super fun ski in general to mass around on. (see Adam Delorme in Realtime, Turbo, and the Jiberish Edits for further proof). However, if you are thinking," Oh Boy I sure do love jibbing my heart out, but I also want to be able to send the biggest jump in my park without hesitation." Well this ski can also do that. Not to be mislead, this ski is stiff by no means, but they do handle quite well on the larger features and high speeds. (They can handle chinese downhill on Icy steeps, they can handle jumps.)
Durability
The durability of these skis so far is great! they have no de-lamination issues so far and only minor top sheet chips that are expected from normal park abuse and the edges are still intact with only a few edge cracks, but are holding up strong. The biggest Issue I would say would have to be the edges pulling out of the tips. On one of my pairs the edges began to pull out of the tips where they meet due to good ol' icy flat landings. However that happened on the 07-08 pair. As for the pair im on right now that are the 08-09 ones (this season) The guys at Fatypus have realized this problem and reenforced the tips with rubber to ensure this doesn't happen as easily!
