My first day on rails...
and I broke a rib. I was on a 15 foot pipe rail, going really fast. I sarted slipping backwards, so I leaned forward. I was so far back my legs slipped out from under me and I did a belly flop. I couldn't breath for like 2 minutes. I hope I'm not afraid of rails now. I'm trying to think of it as, it can't get much worse then that.
ooooh shit dude, that sucks. hope you have a speedy recovery. broken ribs cannot be fun. but ya, once youre back on snow, dont even think about that, just commit and make that rail your bitch.
(...because today it definitely made you its bitch)
get your confidence back up on smaller rails than nail the big ones.
well now you defintely have a goal for the end of this year/next year. 'Make the rail your bitch' and hope you get well soon...how long are you out?
about going to france- 'i was gonna try to blend in by wearing a shirt with a french flag on it and a beret, while carrying around a bagette. u think that would work?? jk i'd get my ass beat quick.'--pierceme
fun. keep equal weight on both feet, and you wont slip out. one way to make sure you have your foot pressure equal is to look at your edges. if they are worn about the same, then your fine. if one is worn more than another, you are putting too much pressure on that foot, and so put more on the opposite foot next time. if you are having difficulty balanceing, get lower, as it is easier to balance, and go faster, so you keep your body moving quickly tward the end of the rail. hope this helps
And get this, on the news the other day they did a big story about old people dropping dead from heat exhaustion. They urged my community to donate fans to keep them alive!! Tell you what, I'll donate my pubes to shove in their mouths, but I'll be damned if I donate anything electrical or useful. - random net person that i found on a site shown to me by apple

Holy shit. Breaking a rib your first day trying them must really lick balls.
But anyway... Keep your eyes on the end of the rail, start with the small ones, and commit. Focus on keeping your shoulders parelell to the rail. When you approach the rail have one foot on either side of the rail. Keep you shoulders parelell with the rail. I also reccomend that when you approach the rail do a small snowplow.
