Full Tilt Descendants?

I wanna pick up a pair of Tilts and was interested in the descendant 4s because of the low price point. I've been told that descendant 4s aren't that durable. Is the whole descendant series not durable? Or is it just the 4s that break easily? Thanks for the help.

my buddies have broken buckles i havent seen the whole boot break . id get fitted keep in mind the descendant is for wider feet.

The buckle didn't break on mine, but the cable that holds the buckle to the boot did. It was a pain in the ass because it wasn't a standard replaceable part that I could order from their site, I had to go thru my local ski shop to order it from FT.

However, I managed to buy 2 extra replacements on top of fixing it for relatively cheap, and it's actually the first thing I've outright broken in 3 pair of full tilts, so I'm still pretty happy with them. They still work well since fixing the cable.

I have a pair of the descendants and actually have had no issues with them at all and I love them so much!!

I heard about issues with older ones, but I believe the newer ones are more durable. I bought a mid last season and skied 40 days on them and nothing major seemed to break on me.

i have had no problem with mine other then the bottom buckle bending a little because i feel on it weird other than that no real problems

I like mine (descendant 6's)and put booster straps on them to make them ski a little different, but be warned, I've broken 3 buckles in two seasons.

Unless you are very light or aren't hitting big jumps/features, this boot will be very soft. I put and 8 flex tongue and the Booster Straps with 3 elastic bands (the 'Expert/Racer' is the name of it I believe) on my Drop Kicks and it still wasn't that stiff. If you are lighter though, they should be perfect.

The beefed up the plastic from the first year so there should be any shell cracking issues anymore. Also i work in a shop and we were able to get replacement/warranty parts super easy for any boots we did have problems with.

Great boot, great fit and if they're too soft a quick tongue flex change and you can grow with the boot. Yes, we had some durability issues in the first batches but have beefed up those parts as well as added a second screw to each buckle to beef up even more. thanks for considering!

The durability was my main concern so that's good to hear.
