Volkl Wall vs. Volkl Step

I'm 21, weigh about 160lbs and I'm 5'10". I have been skiing park (about 90%) for about 4 years now, but a knee injury last year kept me away from my skis, and I think it's time for a new pair. I would consider myself around an intermediate freakier, I'm pretty decent at boxes and rails, but lack considence in bigger jumps. I had just started to nail consistent 3s before my accident. With this is mind, I know it's late in the season, but I want to be able to get out there and send it. Not looking at price, I want a ski that I'll be able to play with and butter, but not be super soft. I don't do big 60 footers, and mainly stick to smaller stuff, but want my skis to hold up a few seasons. I have heard that the Walls are very stiff but a few people have mentioned that they're not too bad. The Steps I know are the slightly more flexy skis, but I don't want them to be too soft. Anyone who has skied either or both who can give me some insight?

I have been skiing the 15/16 walls all season now and I love them. Yes they are rather stiff but they are very poppy. I woulden't recommend them if you want to do/learn butters. I have been having a blast on them charging around the mountain. Have don't to much rails with them but I would guess that the edges would hold up for a while.

Thanks a lot for your input! I ended up getting the Steps with some Rossi Axial3 bindings. I really like the stability/durability that the Walls would provide, but like you said, I want to be able to learn some butters. I am not worried about the build quality of the Steps that much though, as Volkl seems to know their s*** when it comes to making awesome skis.

Bought the steps 2 seasons ago and was in a very similar position you are now. I absolutely loved them and loved riding them and hope you have the same experience. They are an amazing ski to learn on and hope you progress dawg!

As a park beginner the walls probably weren't the right choice for me. But they are still better than any ski I have had before. Update me on how the steps work out for you.

The Wall is a Stiff and kinda lifeless ski compared to many other skis that are designed for the same type of park riding. Its designed for big landings and to be solid on everything it hits. It will get the job done no problem but In my opinion is not as fun when it comes to jibing around in the park or a playful factor. The Step is basically a volkl ledge with come carbon running down it. Its gonna be softer than the Wall but will still shred in the park. This year volkl revamped their park line and now the wall is the revolt 87. Little bit different but the overall purpose of that ski hasn't changed.
