Revision Messed Up

So, back in September I was looking around for a new pair of skis for this season. After hours of searching, someone recommended revision skis. They look sick so I got them for a sick deal during the pre-sale. There was only one slight issue, the skis ship date was "mid November" although that was kinda annoying I knew I wouldn't be skiing at all between now and that time. Fast foward almost 3 months and I still havent heard from them, so I sent them an email regarding the shipping. They said that they would contact me in the next week for an Update. They sent another email a few days later saying they ran into some issues during production. "Due to some quality inconsistencies, we made the decision to rebuild a good portion of our skis". At that time I was like "ok, well I would rather wait 2-3 more weeks for solid skis then get low-quality skis now". They also said they would send another email in about a week for a new ETA. I got the email this morning and they said the new shipping date would be THE FIRST WEEK OF JANUARY. Thats almost have way into the ski season. I'm disappointed because the skis looked so fun but theres no way im waiting that long.


But thats not all, they also gave me (and all other customers) a $100 coupon to there website. Sure I appreciate them going out of there way to do that because they definitely feel bad abut this whole situation, but $100 is not gonna keep me waiting around for another month and a half. So, what do you guys think. Are any of you guys in the same Boat as Me?
Could this issue possibly be the end of revision?

Its a time scam, I've missed basically my whole season now without powder skis.

I have nothing to do with this Thread, just read a little bit.
But one thing is sure, it's no "scamm" as already said, just very poor business management and coordination.

If i sell something on ebay, saying i ship it next day and i wait 1 week until i ship it, am i a scammer? No! Just a very bad seller..

I wonder what they did with the 1st batch of skis with non-bamboo cores. Rather than ship those out to give their customers something to ride on, they probably decided to hold onto them to use as warranty replacements.

here's the helpful tip you requested: if youre missing ski days because of this, do as others in this thread have done and get the charge recalled and go buy another of skis. TA DA. im sorry you got dicked over by this whole thing, i really am, but yelling "SCAM" on a forum clearly isnt going to get your skis there any faster

i imagine that if they did not accept them as the product from the factory, they do not have possession of them to do anything with. idk tho

I ordered my Talisman's back in early August and just like you guys, I've been waiting for some update or some information about what is going on with my skis.

Got this email about 3 hours ago while I was sleeping:

"Hello,

We have received your new skis at our warehouse in Denver and are in the process of checking in inventory and beginning to ship skis out for all orders received. When your skis have been packaged up for shipment, you will receive an email update showing your order as ‘completed’. Then, you will receive a tracking number for your shipment via email once they are picked up by the carrier.

Thanks for your patience, we hope you enjoy your new skis!"

Just to add to the table, I live in Sweden aswell.

I don't know what to do here exactly. I don't want to be a trashball, but at the same time Revision held onto my money for over 6 months so I woundn't feel too bad holding onto their skis for at least 6 months as well.

Anybody else in the same boat or have any thoughts on what to do here?

I just got the email saying my skis should be shipping out soon. I also did get a refund back in early January from my bank. What I'm thinking will happen (my bank warned me about this) is that revision will simply challenge the fraud charges that everyone filed. They will probably also win and charge your card again because, this wasn't a fraud just a massive fuck up since, in the end, we're all getting our skis like it or not.

I'm no sure where you live but the season is certainly not "nearly over". I live in Ontario and we still have 2 monthes left

It seems as if they violated ftc rules by not offering a refund at the first delay.

The Rule further requires a seller to seek the buyer’s consent to the delayed shipment when the seller learns that it cannot ship within the time stated or, if no time is stated, within 30 days. If the buyer does not consent, the seller must promptly refund all money paid for the unshipped merchandise.

There are also rules allowing you to keep unsolicited items sent to you, although it gets a little muddy with things you actually ordered.

Someone who's money and skis are on the line should contact the FTC and see what they have to say about all this. You guys might end up with some free skis and revision might have to face actual consequences for their actions. I doubt the ftc has other people in the good old boys ski owners club to protect Revision, unlike certain moderators on this site.

This is 100% not a scam and those who paid for skis without getting a refund will get their skis. Some people have been level headed and realized they did the right thing by shipping back a defected product to reduce an even bigger headache. Overseas shipping and dealings with companies you can not easily access can be a huge pain in the ass so there will be delays (I know this firsthand).

Should there of been better communication between Revision and those who are wondering where their skis are, definitely, so I understand your frustration.

Sit tight, you'll get your skis and a good majority of you will love their product, while others will hate and bash simply due to this issue.

Yea it fucking sucks but you're getting your skis how are they not legit? It sucks you missed half the season but bitching and saying inaccurate stuff won't fix the problem. They may be Highschool drop outs and can't run a company but to say they're not legit is bullshit. Just my 2 cents

Not QC'ing your production = Not legit.
No updates to people that gave you money so you could produce = Not legit.
Full social media blackout = Not legit.
Not being active on NS to communicate = Not legit.

People that pre-order should be treated as investors in your company. Without their injection of capital, the production probably does not happen.

Shipping skis 7 months after ordering =/=legit
Shipping skis 3 months after they were supposed to ship=/=legit
Shipping skis a month after your already two month delay without telling anybody =/= Legit


This company is not dependable or even close to legit. You can't defend them. They fucked up massively and are going to pay the price now.

I contacted the FTC, and filed a complaint and I agree, more people should file complaints. For anyone saying this isn't a scam, clearly they haven't paid money to the company. If you are sold a product, they take your money but never send the product... I got news; it's a scam. In addition, if they refuse to answer emails, and they refuse to return your money it's clearly a scam to take your money.

You see "Cole9", that's not how business works in the real world. I order a product, they deliver a product within the time constraints of the agreement. If they don't, then I would have to agree to their request to extend the agreement to whatever delivery time they ask for. from what I read.....most people did not. So when I tell a company, I want my money back and do not want your product at a future date they in turn would return my money.

Revision has not returned my money. They do not return emails. They do not have a storefront, or a real telephone number to contact them. They have no right to keep peoples money by law....so yes, it is a scam.

Unless you have some ties to the company, or have ordered skis from them, I'm not sure what your interest is in defending something you really know nothing about.

I'm well aware of the whole revision scenario I've been following for weeks. I'm only defending revision because I do not believe it's a scam is it bad business hell yeah, should they give you your money back if you want sure. But for the people that still want the skis and are calling it a scam I do not believe they are correct and I think revision shouldn't be pegged as scammers

Guys honestly wtf, you are complaining you didn't receive skis and lack of communication, now people are recieveing their skis and your still complaining calling it a scam etc. decide what you want, I agree 100000% revision needs to get some communication skills and learn how to run a business, but at the end of the day your getting your skis and if you don't want them now return them , stop making a crazy big deal just because your salty
