Tips for not hurting shins when tail pressing
Tail presses are one of my favorite tricks and I think we can all agree that the creative options for doing them are nearly endless, but whenever I do them it hurts my shins and ankles like crazy. My boots are molded and fit good and they are tight enough that I can nose butter, but not so tight that they cut off circulation.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It mostly comes down to boot fit, and it will always hurt a little bit because of physics. When you want to do a tail press try to think about popping up in the air and at the same time pushing down towards the ground with the heels of your feet in order to flex the ski rather than leaning back onto your calves to flex/get your tips up. This way your weight is more evenly distributed between your calves and the back of your feet.
Stronger quads? If your shins hurt you're not using your leg muscles. Shin pain is also often a prerequisite to knee injuries. Stronger quads.
