the simple deadkind edit that dropped a while ago that everyone got stoked on, i didn't like it that much. the skiing was amazing but i didn't like the music or the vibe

id rather watch an edit like the trailer to the golden age, which in my opinion, was one of the best park edits I've ever seen. even though it was technically a trailer not an edit haha

ill take this a step further, popular park style doesnt just make ya look cool it makes you a shitty skier. backseat and arms hanging at side is literally the definition of a gaper park skiers have just learned to make it look cool. and the i can ski anything you can i just like backseat better is wrong, no you can't.

part 2, the minute you step an inch outside the park with either tiny poles or no poles i think less of you, wtf happened to function over fashion, tiny poles dont do shit and you look like a jabroni without them

I dislike how people think pole-less skiing makes me inferior to them when I know that if I can ski this shit without poles, I sure as fuck can ski it with poles

I also dislike how the east coast just got rain in february... even though that isnt an unpopular belief

Lol. I rarely ski with poles and i can rip the shit out of everything on-piste without them. Theres a reason you learn to ski with out poles. People get to dependant on them...

Like no being good at park skiing will not make you good at other types of skiing, but if you see a kid stomping clean dubs/ other difficult stuff then it is much more likely they are to be pretty decent at skiing out the of park. A high level of park skiing is only achieved by at the very least a decent level of riding groomers.

I dont ski with short poles for fashion. Poles that are the "correct" length are bulky and heavy and especially shitty when skiing trees.

Being a good skier>being good at park. If you would rather be good at park over being good at skiing in general then you're a fucking idiot, enjoy being that kook when you turn 25 and your body can't take park skiing anymore and you can hardly hit moguls or pussy out when its not a perfect groomed slope.

Snowboarding is better for tricks. Park is default snowboarding. Racing and big mountain is default skiing. Park skis have bad edges, they ridiculously flexible, and park boots make proper skiing impossible. Then people drop their poles, wear baggie clothes, and try to ski around like gangstas but really they look like faggots who are so stuck in the park they don't even know what real skiing is. I ski park because it's a ton of fun but I also think it's stoopid.

I fucken love newschool freestyle skiing..... but honestly, if I was given a choice between skiing "properly" (no leaning back or forwards, no butters, no switch, always proper sized poles, no hand dragging or surfing, only racer form) and snowboarding.... id pick snow boarding hands down.

my style of skiing can relate more to the mind set of snowboarding then it can to "Properly skiing". "Properly skiing" shouldn't be associated with newschoolers or new school skiing at all. its about freely expressing your style of skiing, free minded skiing, and understanding that there is no proper way to ski.

of course there are snowboarders that preach "proper snowboarding" but in general snowboarding has a more freestyle mind set then skiing.

I'm annoyed by people judging others on simple and random shit. Like do they have poles or not, do they ride backseat while dragging their hands or do they ride like an old ski instructor. If they're wearing steezy clothes they're rich kids with no skills but if they can't afford "freestyle" equipment and clothes they're gapers.

This whole attitude is fucking disgusting and it's very present whithin our community. The only thing you should judge someone on when skiing is how big the smile on their face is because that's what skiing is about. If they enjoy the sport in a different way you don't need to push them down to reassure yourself that the way you're doing things is the good one. Focus on being stoked and shut the fuck up about how others skis and what they wear.

I don't think my opinion is especially unpopular but some of us just seem to forget it sometimes.

Go ahead. Don't shovel the stairs. You'll just look like a gaper. Make sure the jump is on the inside of the rail too.

If you think you can tell a difference between a 30" pole or a 48" pole you're either anorexic and have no muscle on you or you're lying to yourself so you can continue to use small poles. If you someohow find it harder to shred trees with larger poles then you really need to go back to ski school and learn the basics of poles because no way skiing is made easier with 30" poles

I know kids that can do cork 3's but they look like complete gapers in moguls or trees. Mastering all-mountain is just a whole new beast.

A lot of people learn park right off the bat and that's all they really know.

I hate how everyone hates on comp skiing. That's the biggest stage this sport will ever be on and we only talk trash about it. The culprit is not the actual competition but the airing of it with amputee and Xbox at the same time. As a guy who is only couple years removed from only knowing xgames skiers, I still remember that watching xgames is what made me learn about the sport. Without it, I would still think the park is only for snowboarders. Luckily, I found NS 2.5 years ago and I know better now, but without xgames, I wouldn't have found the sport I've grown to love so much.

stept/for lack of better creators take themselves way too seriously. They do throw the gnarliest shit, but the whole "I have to ruin my body to get paid" attitude is kind of wack. It just seems like they don't have a lot of fun when they ski.
