The best thing that anyone can do after surgery is be ready with ice packs/ change the ice in the game ready compression sleeve thing.

But in all honesty, make sure he has some good movies/tv shows prepared, books, lots of liquids nearby so he doesn't have to get up to get them, and a pillow and blanket close by so he can nap whenever.

I guess if his knee hurts he could tie it up with a bowtie, but I feel like that's not it...

When my wife was on pain pills recovering I put one of those classic rock marathons on the radio. She loved it and did not care or remember that I was at Mt. Hood skiing.

Everyone recovers differently, but imo...

Ridiculous amounts of ice. More bags than you can fit in your freezer by a lot. Seriously, it takes an ABSURD amount to keep that sucker full. Additional ice packs also necessary.

A whole shit ton of pillows to keep the leg elevated.

Timer to ensure that you get the drug schedule down.

Foot massages. But don't move the leg.

Some sort of entertainment that's set up so you can be entertained without moving, like a TV that's visible from bed or whatever. Laptop works too, but something.

Standing up is super duper painful the first few days so help will probably be required.

Wait I thought this was post-surgery. If he just tore it he'll be okay, just kinda depressed. It's not that bad an injury, it's the repair process that's much worse.

Since he can't really move, do things that makes him not feel like a couch potato. Examples include making him wax your skis, giving him blowies, and forcing him to do a salmon ladder continuously.

Thankfully it's not post op healing. (Tho I am the queen of that)

Ya... this isn't worth making a thread. The surgeon and doctors literally tell you everything...Keep it elevated, ice it. Don't do to much on it too soon.
