Soft shell vs Hard Shell
Looking at picking up a North Face hard shell jacket, no insulation.
Currently have a softshell jacket, pit zips and all that good stuff. I sweat a bit on the slopes so the pit zips do help.
If I made the switch over to a hard shell, whats the best way to insulate? I usually wear under armor base, some polyester long sleeve, then the soft shell jacket.
With hard shell looking at under armor base, polyester long sleeve shirt, then maybe a fleece with pit-zips or a insulated mid weight. Maybe lose the long sleeve shirt at this point?
Just wanted to hear your guys set up.
it's all just trial and error to find what works best for you, and it's obviously gonna change with temperature. you won't be running the entire season with the same setup...

I like 3L shells, don't always need as many layers but they're just as cool when its warm out
