Pescetarianism?

I recently came across a few Pescetarians, which basically refers to the practice of people eating a fish and seafood but will not eat other animals, such as cows, pigs, etc.

so these Pescetarians that i met, they all seemed to have a twig up their ass and make it out like they are better people and adhere to more ethical eating practices compared to others

i as recently tuning into the third dimension and thought "what the fuck is with this Pescetarianism BULLSHIT?"

like the whole concept of Pescetarianism is the notion that eating fish and seafood are more ethnical food choices compared to eating red meats is complete bullshit, fish and seafood are the most ABUSED animals in the world

the fact that we take these huge massive nets to catch fish and seafood and anything can end up in these nets such as whales, dolphins, and other shit that fisherman arn't trying to catch

how the fuck is taking a massive net, throwing it in the ocean and catching every fucking thing that gets in its way ETHNICAL?????

DOUBLE STANDARDS PPL???

It's essentially because in their mind fish don't go through the horrible conditions farm animals do so they think it's okay to eat them.

My 2 sisters and my dads gf are pescetarians. My dads girlfriend is cool about it and she will cook meat for the half of our family that eats it but she's a soft little bitch. My 2 sisters both take it way to serously, they will not eat off a fork that touched meat and whenever someone asks them why they're a pescetarian they just say they don't know

You as an individual can drive the largest model hummer and still have a smaller carbon footprint than riding a bike and eating steak. Just saying. Methane is about 20 times more potent as a green house gas than is CO2. And conversion of land for grazing of cattle.

There's this movie called racing extinction my dad made this year. Google searches...premieres on Wednesday on cable tv

People often take a little too much pride in their view from atop their moral high ground, but I have yet to meet a flawlessly moral individual who automatically wills the good with necessity. While it is true that doing good deeds is praiseworthy and good people are right to feel proud of said deeds, everyone needs to be aware that there's always room for improvement. Not being a douche to people who don't share your views is a good place to start.

This point is highly debatable. To say that the fishing industry (including farms) is more humane than factory farms/slaughterhouses for beef, pork, chicken, turkey, etc you would have to say that it causes less suffering than those factory farms/slaughterhouses, which I think you would have a hard time proving.

Sounds like the people you met were douchebags, and those are the worst. Do nothing but ruin the image of other people who choose different diets,

I was pescetarian for almost 5 years, which is a fair amount of time. Never did it for ethical reasons or anything like that. Simply did it because I wanted to try a different diet, and was getting somewhat bored of eating meat (I know right?).
I was into it too. Wasn't a fan of my food being cooked on a greasy meat covered grill or things like that.
Never once though did I shove my diet choice down people's throats, or pretend to be above someone else because of what I ate.

It's your choice to eat what you want, why should I stop you?

i think CO2 remains in the atmosphere for much longer than methane does, so methane isn't that much worse

OP you are only looking at one side of this you suckpump.

My father is one of these creatures you speak of but he doesn't do it because it is "inhumane" to eat other meats, he does it because fish is probably the most healthy (maybe aside from chicken)of all the meats and is high in fatty acids (good for your brain).

Red meat sits in your colon and causes cancer.

Chicken really is hard to be bad for you aside from the hormones and antibiotics they pump into them as well as them being the most widely abused animal

Pork is not terrible for you

Fish have mercury.


Plus you are clearly talking about factory farmed animals. There are plenty of humane, organic, and natural choices in all those categories.

Farmed fish is terrible for you but wild caught is great. Plus, the smaller the fish you eat the less mercury you are exposed to. Any sushi grade fish is great. Same with shellfish.

So instead of looking at it from a societal standpoint, look at it from a health standpoint.
